AMT Entry Optimizer
Research tool for evaluating which entry signals perform best
An entry research tool that helps you evaluate and compare signal performance. References any study's buy/sell signals and backtests them across configurable entry logic, trade windows, and bar evaluation limits. Results are displayed in a dedicated optimizer window with trade statistics and equity curve — no subgraphs are drawn on the chart itself.
The Concept
Entry Optimizer is a research tool for evaluating signal performance — it backtests referenced buy/sell signals from any study and displays comprehensive trade statistics with an equity curve. Rather than guessing which signals work best, you can measure actual performance across configurable entry logic, evaluation windows, and time filters.
How to Read It
Results appear in a dedicated optimizer window — nothing is drawn on the chart itself.
- Trade statistics show key performance metrics for the referenced signals
- The equity curve visualizes cumulative performance over the evaluation period
- Max Bars to Evaluate controls how long each signal's trade outcome is tracked
- The Trade Window option restricts analysis to specific hours for session-focused research
Practical Tips
Reference any study's buy/sell subgraphs — AMT Delta signals, divergence arrows, three-bar reversals, or any other signal study. Try different Entry Logic options to compare signal bar close, next bar open, or next bar mid entries. Use the Trade Window to focus on your active trading hours. Compare results across multiple signal studies to find the best-performing combinations.
Requirements
- Requires a signal study on the same chart to reference for long and short entry signals
Input & Settings
| No. | Input Name | Function |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Long Signal Subgraph | References the study and subgraph that provides long (buy) entry signals. |
| 2 | Short Signal Subgraph | References the study and subgraph that provides short (sell) entry signals. |
| 3 | Max Bars to Evaluate | Maximum number of bars after a signal to evaluate trade performance. Min: 1, Max: 100. Default: 30. |
| 4 | Entry Logic | Determines how the entry price is calculated relative to the signal bar. Options: Signal Bar Close, Next Bar Open, Next Bar Close, Next Bar Mid. Default: Next Bar Open. |
| 5 | Bars After Signal (if Next Bar) | Number of bars after the signal bar to use for Next Bar entry logic. Min: 1, Max: 5. Default: 1. |
| 6 | Trade Window Enabled | When enabled, restricts signal evaluation to the specified time window. Default: No. |
| 7 | Trade Window Start | Start time for the trade evaluation window. Default: 09:30. |
| 8 | Trade Window End | End time for the trade evaluation window. Default: 13:59. |
