How this fits your workflow
- Select long and short signal subgraphs and evaluate completed-bar snapshots.
- Compare signal-bar close, next-bar open, next-bar close, and hypothetical next-bar midpoint entry assumptions.
- Evaluate up to the selected maximum holding period and optionally restrict observations to a chart-time trade window.
- Refresh from the chart shortcut menu, review the per-instance results window, and export observations to CSV.
A practical example
Reference a study's long and short markers. Start with next-bar-open entries, compare several holding periods, and inspect favorable and adverse movement. Change one assumption at a time and compare the resulting observations.
Reading the results
Results are gross and exclude fees and slippage. Signals are evaluated independently and can overlap, so the output is not a portfolio backtest. Midpoint entry is hypothetical. The tool does not prove an optimal setting will work in future data.
