What it shows
The study examines recent time-and-sales activity over a selected number of seconds and displays squares with slow-to-fast colors. It can be positioned beside the chart.
How to read it
- Watch changes relative to recent gauge behavior.
- Compare acceleration with price location and response.
- Use price or a directional study to assess direction; a faster tape alone is not bullish or bearish.
Settings that matter
The default lookback is 30 seconds with five squares in a horizontal layout. A different symbol can be selected; blank uses the chart symbol. Size, colors, and text are adjustable.
Example sequence
The tape accelerates near a reference level. The gauge draws attention to activity; price response shows whether the move carries through or stalls.
What to keep in mind
This is a recent-activity gauge using available time-and-sales records, not a historical signal series. Reloading or changing the data stream can change the available sample.
