What it shows
Positive delta adds to a positive run; negative delta adds to a negative run. A sign change starts a new run rather than continuing a session-long total.
How to read it
- Positive histogram values show a positive-delta run; negative values show a negative-delta run.
- Magnitude is accumulated net volume for the run, not just the latest bar's delta.
- Compare sign changes with price; delta can reverse sign without price reversing.
Settings that matter
The core calculation follows delta sign without a smoothing input. Chart aggregation defines the bars; Subgraphs control appearance.
Example sequence
Three positive-delta bars accumulate. The next negative-delta bar starts a new negative run instead of subtracting from a session total.
What to keep in mind
This is not session cumulative delta and differs from the original trade-count Tick Delta. Some builds list it as 'Tick Detla 2.0'. Requires bid/ask volume.
